Introducing HIRTA's Travel Training Program

We are excited to announce that we have launched our very own Travel Training program here at HIRTA!

What does this mean?

Have you ever thought about riding HIRTA or some other public transportation, but didn’t because you’re worried? Maybe you aren’t familiar with how to ride or what you’re supposed to do. Experiencing some sort of anxiety when trying transit for the first time is completely normal. But good news! Travel Training can help calm those fears so you can use HIRTA with confidence.

Travel Training will be completely personalized based on the person’s needs. Sometimes a phone call to ask some questions and talk about HIRTA is all that’s needed. Maybe the trainee needs to see the bus up close and personal. Or perhaps a virtual walkthrough is what would work best. Whether someone needs a one-on-one training or having a group outing with a facility is the better option, we will do what it takes to make you feel comfortable riding HIRTA.

If you’re an older adult, a person with disabilities, or a non-English speaking person, or just have a fear or concern about riding public transit, you can receive this free training. Our Travel Trainer will work with you to determine the best training method and location.

For more information on our Travel Training program or if you would like to enroll for this free training, please visit www.RideHIRTA.com/TravelTraining or call (515) 309-9284.
