Keeping Our Riders Safe, One Mask at a Time

HIRTA cares about the safety of our riders and our employees. That’s why HIRTA is following CDC guidelines. All drivers are required to wear masks while a rider is onboard and when they are in close contact with someone. We strongly encourage our riders to wear a mask to help keep our drivers safe.

If you do not have a mask, a single-use mask will be provided to you at no cost – just ask your driver. Please help us reduce the risk of spread and do your part!

Julia Castillo, HIRTA’s director, says, “We are still in a pandemic, so please understand there will be times we will need to ask you to select a different pickup time, and the phone wait time may be a little longer, and we may make a mistake. Our staff is not perfect – they are, however, kind, knowledgeable, and caring. They have remained dedicated throughout COVID-19 even during the toughest of times. HIRTA’s Heroes are most definitely our drivers who were and continue to be out and about in the community to ensure our buses are operating and people are safely getting places.”
