Meet HIRTA's new Volunteer Coordinator!

Hello!

I am Mildred Chihak. I have my Masters of Social Work with a concentration in Aging and Longevity from the University of Iowa. My undergraduate degree is from Loras College, where I majored in Social Work and Spanish. I completed my graduate level practicum at the Alzheimer’s Association where I assisted the program team with establishing a process for better engaging with the communities they serve.

I have worked with older adults and disabled people in social services, activities, and direct support roles within the healthcare field. My most recent position was at a long term care facility as their Social Services Director, where I assisted residents with returning to the community when possible.

With HIRTA, I am the Volunteer Coordinator for the volunteer drivers program we will be establishing. I look forward to serving our riders and communities!
