The Heart of Iowa Regional Transit Agency dba HIRTA is piloting a proof-of-concept mobility solution. Put extra pay into the hands of you or your drivers today and create possible future funding opportunities for tomorrow.

HIRTA is requesting quotes from transportation/technology providers (e.g., taxi associations and transportation network companies (TNCs)) and individuals to provide on-demand rides to expand weekday hours of service to 5pm - 9pm and weekend services 8am - 9pm. This includes transporting older adults and people with disabilities.

HIRTA will purchase ride subsidies from responsive providers to fully or partially subsidize these rides for the intended population. HIRTA intends to operate this service as a pilot program with intentions to make this a permanent and sustainable option, depending on rider participation.
