In 2019, the Dallas County Community Health Needs Assessment and County Health Improvement Plan identified that 50% of Perry residents stated transportation was needed to improve their health. Flex Connect will help to reduce the identified transit barriers by increasing ridership to Healthcare services within the in the city of Perry. Offering a familiar transit service, especially within the Latino community, can improve quality of life, increase employment opportunities, provide more physical activity, and helps create an inclusive environment.
We want to connect with riders to complete a questionnaire about their current lifestyle activity which will be tracked at 6 & 12 months. The data on determining social determinates of health will help change the narrative about transportation and enhance funding opportunities.
